FAQ

Your questions answered.

  • Our process is built around four key stages: Vision, Design, Build, and Support.

Vision is where we take the time to understand your lifestyle and how you intend to use the van. Design translates that into a considered, detailed plan tailored specifically to you. Build is where everything comes together through hands-on craftsmanship, precision, and care. Support ensures you are looked after long after delivery, with ongoing guidance and service to keep you travelling with confidence.

  • Each build is quoted individually based on your requirements, layout, and level of finish.

As a guide, we have completed smaller projects in the $30,000 to $50,000 range. Most of our builds sit within a premium bracket starting from $80,000, with high-end Sprinter builds typically around $120,000 and above.

Regardless of budget, our focus remains on delivering quality workmanship and a considered result.

  • Every Savanna build is tailored to the individual. We do not take a one-size-fits-all approach, and each layout, material selection, and finish is shaped around how you will actually use the space.

  • While the majority of our clients come to us with a van or vehicle, we can assist you in identifying the right vehicle for your dream build.

We can also assist in sourcing Mercedes Sprinters, normally through a streamlined process that reduces typical wait times.

  • We select materials based on durability, weight, and overall finish. This typically includes high-quality ply, hardwood trims, and trusted components suited for both everyday use and off-grid conditions.

We also work closely with you to select finishes and details that align with your design vision, lifestyle, and budget, ensuring the final result feels cohesive and well resolved.

  • All electrical systems are tailored to your individual build and budget. Common setups include lithium battery systems, solar charging, DC to DC charging, and inverter configurations that can support anything from weekend use to full off-grid living.

  • We will soon be introducing a range of thoughtfully designed base layouts that clients can use as a starting point. These are intended to simplify the process and suit a range of budgets, while still allowing flexibility in finishes and features.

This does not replace what we do. Fully custom builds will always remain at the core of Savanna, and our packages will be delivered alongside custom builds, with the same level of care, quality, and attention to detail.

  • Projects are structured around staged payments aligned with key milestones throughout the build. This approach ensures clarity, transparency, and a smooth process from start to finish.

  • We combine a deep understanding of our clients with real-world experience. Having built and lived with vans ourselves, we understand what works in practice.

Each layout is designed to feel intuitive, practical, and comfortable, ensuring the space not only looks refined but functions seamlessly in day-to-day use.

  • We operate with a clear philosophy that prioritises quality over quantity. Every van is treated as if it were our own, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, premium finishes, and attention to detail.

We also place a high value on transparency, communication, and working closely with you throughout the entire process. The result is a considered, premium product that reflects both our standards and your vision. For more on what drives us, you can explore our About Us section.

  • Our builds are designed to support off-grid living and, where appropriate, off-road capability. We can recommend and integrate upgrades such as suspension lifts, bull bars, bash plates, and other modifications to improve performance in more demanding environments.

Off-road capability depends on the full vehicle setup and how it is used. We guide you toward the right configuration, however we are not liable for misuse or for limitations where recommended upgrades are not included.

  • Timeframes depend on the complexity of the build, the size of the vehicle, and any additional modifications or certifications required. Most smaller builds are completed within 6 to 8 weeks, while larger builds typically take between 8 and 12 weeks once construction begins. We provide clear expectations upfront so you know exactly what to plan for.
